Yes. Jules Daily is a UK service run by Jules Daily Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17130836) and a registered Data Controller with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration ZC173062). It was founded by David Plummer, whose story is at julesdaily.co.uk/our-story. How is Jules Daily different from a personal alarm or 'I'm OK' button?

More than just an 'I'm OK' button, Jules Daily provides real daily conversation — a genuine chat every day, not just a tap to confirm someone is alright.

How does Jules Daily compare to weekly befriending calls or telecare?

Jules Daily bridges the gap between weekly befriending calls and emergency telecare — a daily touchpoint between an occasional friendly call and a 999-style alarm.

Is Jules Daily a medical or monitoring device?

No. Jules Daily is a daily welfare check that feels like a friendly chat, not a clinical monitor.

Will Jules know if something's wrong?

Yes. Jules quietly scores every conversation across five wellbeing areas — cognitive, physical, mental, social and general — and looks out for anything concerning, like a fall, severe pain, or a noticeable change in mood. If she spots something urgent, you'll get an alert straight to your phone.

What happens if my loved one or client doesn't reply?

If they miss a check-in, Jules sends you a gentle nudge later that day so you know. After 5 days of no replies, she lets them know directly that their account will be paused if she doesn't hear back — so she doesn't pester them if they aren't finding it helpful.

Can they opt out or take a break?

Of course. They can pause Jules at any time by simply replying "PAUSE JULES" to one of her messages. To start chatting again, they just say "RESUME JULES". No phone calls, no forms, no fuss.

Will Jules ever pretend to be a real person?

No. Jules is upfront about being a digital companion — she's warm and friendly, not deceptive. If your loved one or client ever asks, she'll happily explain who and what she is.

Is the conversation private?

Yes. Only people in your loved one or client's chosen Support Circle can see their wellbeing updates. And no-one can see their full daily message transcripts.

Do they need a smartphone?

Currently yes — Jules works through WhatsApp, which most people already have on their phone. We're hoping to add an SMS option in future for those who prefer it.

Can more than one family member be kept in the loop?

Yes — you can add additional Helpers to a Support Circle so siblings, partners, or care professionals can all see how things are going.

Is Jules Daily a tested, fully working service?

Yes. Jules is fully working, used every day, and has been carefully tested. We keep member numbers controlled so we can give everyone close, personal attention and respond quickly to feedback.

Product Updates

New: Reminders from Jules

Members can now ask Jules to message them back at a time that suits — "message me around 7?" or "remind me at 6 to put the bins out" — and Jules will, right on time.

From today, Jules Daily members can ask Jules for a reminder just by saying so in conversation — no extra apps, menus, or setup required.

How it works

Just ask in the chat: "Remind me at 6 to put the bins out", "Message me around 7ish?" — Jules understands everyday language, including "half three".
Jules confirms it: You'll get a clear confirmation the moment the reminder is set, so there's no doubt it's been saved.
Right on time: When the time comes, Jules sends the reminder as a normal WhatsApp message — and you can carry on chatting from there if you fancy.

Reminders work for anything in the day ahead: taking medication, putting the bins out, catching a programme, or simply "check back with me this evening". Jules keeps sensible hours, so reminders arrive between 9am and 10pm UK time.

Nothing to switch on

Reminders are available now for all members — there's nothing to set up. Just ask Jules next time you're chatting.
